GPT-6.1 Sol ranks 5th on the AA Intelligence Index

Honestly, it feels like they just took Astra, cut the price, and called it Sol. Kind of a rushed rebrand after people roasted OpenAI, let’s be real.

I genuinely don’t understand these model names anymore. We got Sol, but it feels like Astra. Before that we had Sol, but it was basically Terra. Anthropic shipped this supposedly incredible Fable, and now Opus is their strongest model.

At this point it feels like they basically have two models: the strong one and the weaker one. Everything else is just some weird mix in between.

Why make it this confusing?
