Go spend them again immediately. Another reset is expected later today, and I doubt it’ll be the last one.
After yesterday’s update, the team admitted they had overcomplicated things: high-compute modes were burning through limits too quickly, and the interface had become less intuitive. They’re already adjusting the defaults and model picker so the most expensive modes aren’t enabled by accident and usage becomes more predictable.
Next week, they’re promising clearer information about how many limits you have left and when they’ll reset, the return of chats and projects to a more familiar layout, and better guidance on when to use ChatGPT Work versus Codex.
